This installation allows people to reconsider their lives and relations with others in an evocatively powerful way. Arches offer passive, completely safe hand sensors to the sitting visitor. When grasped, the sensors take a heartbeat reading. A figure-sized tower has five glass bells arranged like vertebrae in a spine – an image of the body as a house of energies. Electronics convert the heartbeat signal into a strike on one bell; the beats continue until the participant releases his/her grip. As others join in, the rhythms and sounds become more complex, re-acquainting users with our common life force.

5개의 봉과 의자, 그리고 인체의 등뼈처럼 생긴 기둥에 달린 종으로 구성된 <심박편종心拍 編鐘 Heartbeat Carillon>은 각각의 봉을 잡은 관객의 맥박을 읽어 종으로 보낸다. 심박에 따라 종들이 울리고, 한 사람의 맥박소리에서 다섯 사람의 맥박소리로, 점차 종의 울림은 복잡해지고 큰 울림을 갖는다. 우리 귀에는 잘 들리지도 않고, 손끝으로 미세하게 느껴지는 맥박이 갖는 활력, 우리 삶의 힘을 다시 인식하도록 일깨워 주는 작품이다.
