물빛(Water Lights)은 붓을 물에 적셔 작품의 표면 위에 빛이 나는 다양한 글씨나 그림을 그려 볼 수 있는 관객 참여 작품이다. 이 작품은 센서에 의해 물이 묻으면 빛이 켜지는 960개의 엘이디로 이루어져 있다. 빛의 밝기는 각각의 센서에 감지되는 물의 양에 따라 조절된다. 이렇게 만들어진 이미지들은 카메라에 의해 컴퓨터로 입력되고, 사운드와 함께 스크린 위에 다양한 영상으로 변해 보여진다. 이는 참여자들의 호기심으로 만들어진 이미지들을 소리를 통해 들려 줌으로서, 시각의 청각화를 이용한 새로운 형태의 공감각적인 경험을 하게 해준다.
Water Lights is an interactive installation where people dip their brush in water and then write or draw on the surface of raised points, which light up when it comes in contact with water. The work has a series of raised points connected to an LED whose light is triggered by the amount of water on the surface. The public contribute to this piece by painting with the wet brush or modifying the image by drying portions of it with the towel. This piece also makes dynamic patterns and sounds according to the images on the surface created by interactors. It was from my interesting in various electronic sound effects by viewer’s visualizations.
