Graffiti Research Lab

■ Artist: Graffiti Research Lab
■ Title: Laser Stencil
■ Year: 2008
■ Work Description:
The Laser Stencil (LS) is a long-range, all-weather, light-speed messaging system designed to accurately mark structures with static text and low-resolution graphics at multiple kilometer distances. Known as the Green Lantern by field agents, the LS consists of only a high-powered laser, beam expander and mini-stencil that can be hand-held or mounted on a conventional tripod. When used in conjunction with a point and shoot digital camera, the LT can produce and document a variably-sized green mark on a range of surfaces using laser-printed, miniature stencils. The Lantern is becoming the low-mass, compact solution of choice for GRL agents and other private citizens who want to tactically communicate their unsafe ideas at safe distances.
